Matt Ludwig might be a child, but he understands, even at a young age, the sacrifices that thousands of military families make each day. His father, who serves in the U.S. Navy, recently returned from a deployment to Afghanistan.

When this son of a sailor had the chance to help American service members serving in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation New Dawn, he put a smile on his face and joined up with other military kids for a consequential day of fun. They spent several hours stuffing care packages at Virginia’s Fort Belvoir, as part of Operation USO Care Package. The special USO Metropolitan Washington-hosted event benefited thousands of U.S. troops stationed overseas.
