When the USS Mount Whitney set sail from Gaeta, Italy, to support air operations over Libya, a Defense Logistics Agency team member was onboard as the support team commander.
Navy Cmdr. Richard Buell served as commander of the DLA support team for Joint Task Force-Odyssey Dawn from March 8 to 31.
“[JTF Odyssey Dawn] was stood up Feb. 27 to lead the operational and tactical international military response to the unrest in Libya,” Buell said.
